Why is Les Petits Matelots Preschool different?

cycle_1

In our preschool (ages 0–3), we aim for children to develop all their abilities across various areas of experience through educational activities and carefully prepared environments.

Our teaching approach combines the Optimist method with selected Montessori activities to provide a personalized education tailored to each child’s developmental stage, surrounded by affection and care, in close collaboration with families.
All of this takes place in a welcoming, warm, and safe environment, with professionals who support the children with love and respect, helping them grow up happy.

Our Methodology

Autonomy and Development

It meets the individual needs of each student by respecting their different developmental rhythms, through practical life activities that promote autonomy, in work and experimental environments with sensory, cultural, linguistic, and mathematical materials.

Creative Learning Spaces

With our creative spaces, we design free-play environments where children handle, experiment, and enjoy exploring different materials, thus having very enriching sensory experiences.
It is a carefully prepared environment, aesthetically appealing to motivate the child to engage and initiate play — an essential activity at this age for overall development — and the expression of their creativity.

Trilingualism: French, Arabic, and English

In preschool, we place great importance on language learning from an early age — a key moment in language development and a crucial period for introducing the foundations of the trilingual program they will continue in later stages of school.
The sessions are led by motivated educators, using a dynamic, playful, and game-based approach.
We want them to learn while developing a love for other languages.

Central Role of Families

Family Workshops and Involvement: We address topics of interest that support the educational process through conferences with specialists and personalized meetings.
The relationship between families and educators is maintained on a daily basis, allowing for regular exchanges about the child’s development.
Individual meetings with families are essential tools to support them in the education of their children.
Quarterly meetings are held to communicate the educational and pedagogical goals.
